Umgeni Community Empowerment Centre
The Umgeni Community Empowerment Centre (UCEC) is in partnership with the Samuels Siza Foundation. This public benefits organization empowers individuals through care and counselling by hosting various talks and activities that empower people to become contributory citizens to our society.
Empowerment for those individuals that have lost hope in their lives or can’t find a way to rebuild themselves. The services that they offer is not subject to race, gender, religion or age; and empowerment of people stretches from domestic violence victims to victims of human trafficking and sexual abuse, to the unemployed, sick and suicidal.

Kindness Can is a movement initiated by Jane Linley-Thomas (from East Coast Radio) and Paul Bushell (a psychologist and author) – inspired by the idea that kindness can change the world. Through simple acts of kindness, we can change our relationships with ourselves and other people and the greater world. Kindness Can is a movement of Talks, Workshops, Activations, Podcasts, Videos and so much more.
Kindness Can believes that any act of kindness, no matter how big or small, has the potential to change the world.
Kindness Can is partnering and supporting the Samuels Siza Foundation and they believe that by providing a platform for the volunteers (previous beggars) on the no begging, now working and gardening Initiative, that they would have a voice and be encouraged to continue the great work they are now doing in the gardens. The more their stories of disappointment, rejection, resilience, hope and their dreams are shared, the more we can all understand their plight, and through all our acts of kindness, we can make the world a better place.
